Initial information was released by the Chicago Police Department in the early hours of Saturday. As per their official statement, a woman aged 42 endured a gunshot wound to her leg, while a 26-year-old woman incurred a grazing wound to her abdomen.

The 42-year-old victim was expeditiously transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center and is currently reported to be in a stable condition. In contrast, the 26-year-old victim declined medical aid, as affirmed by the law enforcement agency.

The White Sox issued an official statement addressing the incident, expressing uncertainty regarding the precise origin of the gunshots—whether they were discharged from inside or outside the stadium premises. This collaborative effort ensured the safety and security of both attendees and staff present at the sporting event.

The announced attendance for the Friday game tallied to approximately 21,906 individuals. Additionally, a postgame musical performance slated to feature Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, and Tone Loc was unfortunately called off due to “technical difficulties,” as duly communicated through the stadium’s electronic scoreboard.
