On Tuesday, August 29, eleven individuals aboard a Delta Airlines flight were transported to a hospital after encountering “significant turbulence” prior to landing in Atlanta, as confirmed by a company representative speaking to CNN.

The aircraft, which had 151 passengers and 14 crew members on board, was en route from Milan when the turbulence incident occurred, as conveyed by a Delta spokesperson. Among the 11 individuals who sustained injuries, both passengers and crew members were affected.

As of Tuesday, the exact extent of the injuries remained unclear.

The Delta Care Team is currently in the process of coordinating with passengers of Delta Flight 175, which encountered severe turbulence before executing a safe landing in Atlanta on Tuesday, according to the spokesperson’s statement.

At the moment of the turbulence occurrence, the flight was positioned approximately 40 miles northeast of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. Despite the turbulence, the aircraft successfully completed its landing, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Agency.

The Delta spokesperson emphasized, “Our primary focus is tending to the well-being of our passengers and crew members who sustained injuries. We extend our gratitude to the initial responders who met the aircraft to provide medical assistance and are now facilitating the transportation of the injured to medical facilities.”
